Telluride Skiing and Snowboarding:

Beginner – Telluride Ski Resort

Telluride Ski Resort offers a decent amount of beginner terrain for those who aren’t looking to ski steep chutes or cliffs quote yet. The resort has around 23% beginner terrain and minimal crowds for those just starting out. Furthermore, the best of the beginner terrain is located at 11,000 feet and is best accessed by using the Prospect Bowl Express chair. Once at the top, beginners should ride the Galloping Goose to Madison near the bottom. Galloping Goose is the longest run at a length of 4.6 miles long. If you are someone who needs a little more support getting started, Telluride has a great ski school for all ages and ability levels.

 

Intermediate – Telluride Ski Resort

Intermediate skiers and riders are in luck, as 36% of the trails are for this ability level. In fact, long and groomed runs are found across the entire mountain, so as an intermediate skier you can spend your entire ski trip exploring new runs. Additionally, there are some trails that are a local favorite, like the See Forever trail atop the resort. This trail borders the entire right side of the mountain and can be accessed from the Revelation Express or Gold Hill Express. Overall as an intermediate rider, you can get a feel for every part of the mountain because there are so many options for this level of skier and rider.

Expert- Telluride Ski Resort

Telluride ski resort is an expert skier and rider’s paradise due to 41% of the terrain rated as extreme. In fact, Telluride’s expert terrain is known for having both great mogul runs, wide-open ungroomed powder fields, and steep bowls. Furthermore, the most well-known place for experts to ski is Palmyra Peak. Another expert favorite is the famous double black run, Gold Hill. With incredible views of Palmyra Peak, you can’t beat this expert terrain. In conclusion, the higher up you go at Telluride Ski Resort the better the snow conditions and the steeper the terrain.
